Its not too late to start your Spring Cleaning!
Now that the weather is warmer and the days are longer, it’s time to open the windows, prepare those barbecues and bring on those outdoor activities. It’s also a good time to clean your home from top to bottom! Spring cleaning takes on an entirely new level of importance if you intend to put your home on the market and attract potential buyers. Here are a few ways to get organised and make the most of your spring cleaning.
Make a plan – a checklist will keep you on track and as you complete a task, cross it off your list.
Involve the family – encourage the whole family to help with the chores, the dirtier the task, the better the reward.
De-clutter – by organising your CDs, DVDs, Books, kids toys and clothes you will make your spring cleaning task much easier. Store your items in boxes until you decide what to do with them. This will give you access to your floors and furniture without having a load of stuff in the way.
Start from the top – especially if you have high ceilings, start cleaning from the top and work your way down. Clean away the cobwebs on the ceilings, dust the moldings, light fixtures then continue to the walls, the pictures and mirrors and then on to the windows. Move on to your furniture, then on to the floors.
Throw out what you don’t need – check the fridge and the medicine cabinet for expired products, don’t be a hoarder, if you don’t need it, get rid of it!
Get outside – clean out the garage and the gutters, wash the windows, trim the hedges, tidy the garden. Get your garden ready for summer and that barbecue!
